A car ran into a group of people in Charlottesville, Virginia, where there have been violent clashes between far-right nationalists and counter-protesters.

The mayor of Charlottesville, Mike Signer, said on Twitter that there had been a fatality, and urged people to go home. A hospital official said one person was dead and 19 injured, the Associated Press reported.
