When the National Association of Black Journalists announced that a panel featuring White House aide Omarosa Manigault would be a late addition to their 2017 conference in New Orleans, some would-be attendees immediately cancelled their plans.
They missed one heck of a show. (Videos below.)
While Manigault was invited to the event because of her role with President Trump, she had no intention of answering questions about her boss or his effect on the lives of those in attendance.
“Shame on you,” she said when moderator and broadcast journalist Ed Gordon broached the subject of Trump. That’s when the cellphone cameras came out.
In the three below videos Manigault can be seen pitching a fit as Gordon calmly asks the questions the audience wanted answered, including issues Trump encouraging police brutality and his blatantly racist policies . The scene descended into chaos as Manigault escalated tensions. Shortly after the exchange, NPR’s Sam Sanders reports that NABJ president Sarah Glover came out to contain the situation, and Manigault slipped out without a word.
While Manigault’s emulation of her boss’ combative, self-serving style would be problematic from any supposed public servant, you can’t blame her for not wanting to defend Trump.
For choosing to spend her days enabling America’s wannabe tyrant however, Omarosa Manigault got exactly what she deserved today.
